Cabaret (1972) won eight Oscars from its ten nominations, but lost the Best Picture prize to The Godfather (1972).

2. Answer: Goldfinger (1964)
Goldfinger (1964), the third James Bond movie in the long-running series, won an Oscar for Best Sound Effects Editing. It was also the first Bond movie to receive an Academy Awards nomination.

6. Answer: John Ford
John Ford is currently the only director to win four Oscars for Best Director, followed by Frank Capra and William Wyler with three. As of 2020, there were 18 directors who had won two. Ford won his Oscars for his movies of social comment, rather than for his classic westerns. His winning movies were: The Informer (1935), The Grapes of Wrath (1940), How Green Was My Valley (1941), and The Quiet Man (1952).

7. Answer: Midnight Cowboy (1969)
Midnight Cowboy (1969) was the first and only movie in Academy history to win Best Picture with an X-rating. When the film was re-released in late 1970, it was re-rated with an R rating.

Jack Palance was nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his work in Shane (1953), and throughout his career played scores of villains. In reality, he didn't lack for courage and daring. He was a professional heavyweight boxer in the 1940s and received a purple heart in combat during World War II.

At the start of The Searchers (1956), the young 10-year-old Debbie was portrayed by Lana Wood, younger sister of co-star Natalie Wood. Five years later, the teenage Debbie was portrayed by Natalie Wood herself.
